Covid-19 Information for Guests

The Visitor Centre is currently closed for the winter season.

When open, we are operating based on guidance from the Icelandic Directorate of Health.

COVID 19 Guest Information Update as of February 12, 2022 and is in effect until February 25, 2022:

The maximum number of people allowed in the same area indoors is 200 persons, with certain restrictions, both in public and private locations.

Children are not excluded.

Face masks must be worn wherever the 1 meter social distancing rule cannot be observed between people who are unrelated.

Mask obligation does not apply to children born 2006 or later.

Face masks must be used where it is not possible to ensure 1 meter of social distancing, such as in healthcare services, museums, domestic flights and ferries, public transport, taxis and coaches, in practical driving lessons and flight training, hairdressers, beauty salons, massage parlours, tattoo parlours, dog grooming salons, tanning salons and other similar activities. Face mask needs to cover both nose and mouth.

Those who do not have the understanding or maturity to use a face mask correctly or are unable to do so for other reasons, such as health reasons, do not have to wear a mask.

The full information and updates can be found on the official Directorate of Health Website for COVID Updates.

To maintain the most safe environment for guests and staff, 2 meter distance is still required inside the Visitor Centre and masks are required.  Unaccompanied children (Under 14) will not be admitted.

Enhanced cleaning and physical distancing measures are in place for the health and safety of all guests and staff.

Additional hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the attraction for all guests.

Thank you for your support.
